The newly established Center for Integrative Bioinformatics and Experimental Mathematics (CIBEM) at the Department of Biostatistics and Computational Biology, University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry (Rochester, NY) has an immediate opening for a tenure-track faculty (open-rank) position to lead our bioinformatics research in the CIBEM. The successful candidate should have a focus on bioinformatics in immunology and infectious diseases, which represents a major institutional strength at the University of Rochester (UR).  Major NIH-funded center awards and contracts to the UR in this area include a newly awarded Respiratory Pathogens Research Center (RPRC), the Autoimmunity Center of Excellence, the Center for Biodefense Immune Modeling (CBIM), the Center of Excellence in Influenza Research and Surveillance (NYICE), a Developmental Center for AIDS Research (DCFAR), a HIV Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) and the Rochester Human Immunology Center (RHIC). We are looking for a creative individual to join our inter-disciplinary research Center. The applicant should have a Ph.D. in bioinformatics, computational biology, computer engineering, biostatistics, biology or other related scientific disciplines. Background in immunology, virology or infectious diseases and experience in analysis and interpretation of transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, or other high content data related to biological networks are strongly preferred. Familiarity in bioinformatics databases and software tools is a plus. Demonstrated evidence of good communication and collaboration skills is essential. Senior candidates being considered at the Associate or Full Professor level will be expected to have an outstanding research program, including high-profile publications and a successful record of extramural funding.
